Well, I don’t know about autumn ,as there was a definite  winter chill in the air, but we had such a warm and happy  atmosphere in Christ  Church ,which more than made up for it, along with the heating of course! On Sunday 27th November Michael Bochmann directed a truly wonderful concert, along with  Katherine Thomas, on harp, and Peter Adams, on cello. It was a joy to witness and the support was overwhelming. Although there were over 150 people in the audience it still managed to be such a relaxing occasion, rather like being in your own sitting room!  This marks a significant end of an era as Michael and the orchestra performed for the last time as the English String Orchestra at Christ Church.  But, fear not!! Michael is forming a new orchestra which je will direct and with the same musicians, Orchestra Pro Anima , and they will perform at Christ Church on Sunday 19th March 2017, 3.00 p.m., a date for your diary. After this performance who could fail to look forward to the next in March? The programme was a delightful  array of perfectly chosen pieces to compliment the late autumn setting . The soloists played with such sensitivity but the whole concert was testimony to the wonderful way in which music can totally immerse the senses when played from the very depths of the soul and the Mozart was positively  heavenly.  The Worcestershire Youth Orchestra accompanied the Boyce and were so accomplished it was a pleasure to witness such young, “home grown” talent.

If you were at the concert I am sure you will want to follow Michael in his new and exciting venture and you can contact him on his web site to request inclusion on the  Orchestra Pro Anima mailing list, to be sure of not missing any 2017 dates for the new orchestra.
