On Sunday 19th March we saw the first performance of Orchestra Pro Anima at Christ Church. Although it was the first time they have performed under their new name the musicians have performed together over a long period of time as members of the English String Orchestra. Their new name literally means “for the soul” and they most definitely lived up to the name. It was terrific to see a packed house greet them , hanging on every note of an unforgettable concert.

Pro Amina Orchestra

Michael Bochmann MBE directing with such naturalness and obvious joy as they really did “unfurl the spring” as was promised, with powerful performances of the soloists received rapturous applause and it was a true delight to see the young musicians from Malvern Area Music Centre String Orchestra and with such accomplished playing.

So, an afternoon which certainly did provide reviving and restorative music for the soul and which left the audience wanting more.
